Smoking Gun

I.
June 15th, 1986 my momma gave birth to a spix.
Brown hair, black eyes; let's kill him now since he hasn't been baptized, send him to HELL with the rest of em', but I would grow to be flyer than the best of them.

II.
This the poem of my life, the passage of my right, America's plight, plough shares down Weathering Heights, stocks plummeting minimum wage, hungry stomachs grumbling hollow men unfazed.

III.
Captured by the new craze, mixed up in crooked ways, play the game or get turned away, blades out under tongue, cut your throat, yet hold your tongues, muskets loaded pointed at the sun, pointed at your sons, beware the final proof.

IV.
 Behold the smoking gun.

The Allure of Wealth

Methods of Ruler-ship:
“The tendency for wealthy families to annoy others by “showing off” -- by spending extravagantly and wastefully on themselves -- is also often a cause for resentment."
...
"This tendency toward consumption for show has been dealt with for centuries, going back to ancient Greece and Rome, by means of sumptuary laws that forbid specified forms of wasteful consumption."
...
"In seventh-century B.C. Greece, for example, women were forbidden to wear extravagant clothing or jewelry unless they were prostitutes.”

The Youth of This Age:

Where are we now?
We are all going through a hard-time, a recession, things never mentioned, situations never questioned.
...
The only things discussed are promethazine addictions, money hungry women, and hearts with no convictions.
 ...
What is your predilection?
  ...
I suppose it is to get rich quick? Buy Louboutin heels or bag a Top Model chick?
...
We have abandoned the basics; therefore these dreams have no basis. We stink like meat that has rotted in a sun that is racist.
 ...
A man once asked, "what happens to a dream deferred?"
 ...
I tell you there are no dreams, because our imaginations have been burned.
 ...
Here we sit heavy with debt, spending our last dimes on dreams never met.
...
The Chinese labor night and day, while on bottoms we sit playing Xbox all day.
 ...
What to make of the Taliban, North Korea, or Iran?
...
Who is our voice?
 ...
Is it Jersey Shore?
...
Lady Gaga or someone more, clever and witty, tall and pretty from a little town or a big ol’ city, maybe it is Carrie from Sex and the City or some loud mouth rapper from the inner-city.
...
Either way,
we leave off where we start,
 discussing
get rich quick schemes,
promethazine,
and convictions with
no heart.

Mr. Creosote

 Game-Theory:
“Highly processed corn-based food products, with lots of chemical additives, are well known to be a major driver of weight gain, but, from a conventional growth-accounting perspective, they are great stuff."
 ...
"Big agriculture gets paid for growing the corn (often subsidized by the government), and the food processors get paid for adding tons of chemicals to create a habit-forming – and thus irresistible – product."
 ...
"Along the way, scientists get paid for finding just the right mix of salt, sugar, and chemicals to make the latest instant food maximally addictive; advertisers get paid for peddling it; and, in the end, the health-care industry makes a fortune treating the disease that inevitably results.”

Shell of a Woman

Feminine ways, masculine habits, witness the shell of a woman. Jackhammer oscillates "ra-ta-ta, ra-ta-ta, ra-ta-ta". Diamond blade cannot crack its surface. Soft as a flower, descendant of Janus, seashell will reveal its pearl. Voice of a siren, descendant of eve, partake of the flesh not meant to deceive. Teeth of a saber, purr of a kitten, Medusa awaits her Perseus.

The Myth of Sisyphus

I.
Take me and break me, but you'll never manipulate or make me.
II.
Tongue lash or bash, torture, hate, harass, above the morass, no love for the brass, heart made of glass, prison door clasped: justice must be served and honor usurped.
III.
Respect will be earned, talent burned, with stakes raised high, and preparation on neigh, for the first of all time: glass shards lay scattered before "the benign indifference of the universe".
VI.
Heavy lays the crown, eyes dry, hands tied, will of the people, prepare to die.
